If you work in PR, social or marketing, different platforms will no doubt be a big part of your professional and personal life.

After all, we’ve all spent years scrolling, posting, liking, sharing, and connecting with others across platforms.

But lately, we’ve been feeling a little disillusioned…with X in particular.

Following The Guardian leaving for Bluesky, and many other journalists doing the same, it’s time to follow.

So today, we have done just that.

For those who aren’t familiar, Bluesky is a social media platform that emerged out of a project funded by Twitter back in 2019, and it’s all about putting control back in the hands of users.

After just a few hours, it’s refreshing and like a blank canvas again.

There’s less noise, fewer distractions, and a real focus on content and the community rather than on selling you stuff.

We’ve already been having some great conversations and discovering content from people who aren’t focused on chasing likes or trying to go viral. It’s nice to see a platform that encourages real connection and thoughtful interaction over the kind of mindless scrolling and engagement that can dominate other spaces.

What really excites us is that you can join different servers based on interests (shout out Rich Leigh ) and get to select where you spend your time. This kind of freedom and flexibility just feels right, especially when you consider how much of our personal data is sold or used to profit big corporations on other platforms.

It’s early days but starting afresh on Bluesky has also been a positive change of pace, and with many journalists making the switch, it feels the right place to be right now.

If you’re already on Bluesky, feel free to connect. Our founder Jen is https://bsky.app/profile/prjen.bsky.social
